BIOGRAPHY
The Schwag is a band of musicians dedicated to carrying on the vibe and music of the Grateful Dead. Founded in 1991 The Schwag has performed over 3000 concerts throughout the United States. This group averages 150 shows a year and has a working songlist of over 200 songs from the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band catalog. For several years band leader Jimmy Tebeau also toured the country performing with Melvin Seals and The Jerry Garcia Band (JGB). The Schwag has opened for many notable acts including String Cheese Incident, Marshall Tucker Band, Leftover Salmon, Sammy Hagar, Little Feat, and Railroad Earth. For many years The Schwag hosted its own Schwagstock music festivals drawing crowds of an average of 5000 people per event several times per summer. The band owned the venue Camp Zoe in Missouri where the festivals were hosted. Some of the bands opening for The Schwag at these festivals were George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Keller Williams, Big Brother & the Holding Company, and New Riders of the Purple Sage. Some of the guest musicians to play with The Schwag over the years include Chuck Berry, Bill Nershi from String Cheese Incident, Drew Emmitt and Vince Herman from Leftover Salmon, Butch Trucks from The Allman Brothers Band, Fred Tacket from Little Feat, Mike Gordon from Phish, and Vince Welnick from The Grateful Dead. Honorary band members for full Schwag shows include Merl Saunders, Melvin Seals, Johnnie Johnson, Jason & Travis & Kang from String Cheese Incident, and Devon Allman (Gregg’s son.) From May of 2013 to May of 2014, The Schwag was primarily on hiatus, as lead singer Jimmy Tebeau served time in federal prison in Yankton, South Dakota for a music/drug related crime.  The Schwag band is now stronger than ever on a perpetual tour performing a different show every night of high energy organic interpretations of the Grateful Dead songlist.

WINTERLAND
https://www.facebook.com/winterland73/

Specializing in the Grateful Dead’s catalog and sound from 1969 through the late 1970s, Winterland pulls you back in time to a place where the Dead’s rhythm and blues, folk and country roots were still deeply embedded in their music even as they explored the wild and experimental outer reaches of psychedelic rock. More importantly, though, Winterland channels the music of the Grateful Dead with uncanny authenticity, a sublime fidelity to the Dead’s musicianship, tonality and, in particular, emotional relationship with the audience. Walk into any given Winterland show and witness firsthand: every face is radiant, reflecting the elation of sharing — with the band and with each other — the pure, innovative, beautifully complex music of the Dead. This interconnectedness, which breaks down the barriers between people and music and allows everyone to become collaborators in an elusive web of fleeting, living art, represents an essential unity of musical experience. In other words, what Winterland has attained has proven to be a microcosm of the feat that the Grateful Dead of the late ‘60s to the late ‘70s achieved and escalated to a full-fledged cultural phenomenon. It is a thing of subtle and wily magic, not to be missed.

DEAD LINE STRING BAND
https://www.facebook.com/deadlinestringband/

Come and ride the rails with The Dead Line String Band from Des Moines, Iowa! Members are Nick Loffredo ( mandolin, vocals) Charlie Formaro (banjo, dobro) Bob Rice (bass, vocals) Ryan Moffitt (guitar and vocals). We started in February of 2015. Our style of music would probably be considered jamgrass, bluegrass, folk, rock. We cover The Grateful Dead, Moe, John Hartford, Greg Brown and many others as well as originals. We try to balance our shows with half originals and half covers. We’ve been privileged to play for the 80/35 festival along with some of the great music venues around Des Moines. We are currently working on an album “Simulated Intoxication”. Which should be ready by the fall of 2017.
